Enjoy the Lake: Rent a paddleboard, kayak or take a scenic boat tour on Lake Toxaway. It’s the largest private lake in North Carolina and absolutely serene. The Greystone Inn also hosts group tours of the lake on The Lucy II throughout the day.

Spa Day: Treat yourself to a massage or facial at The Stillpoint Wellness Spa. You deserve it! The Spa at the Old Edwards Inn in Highlands is also only a short drive away.

Porch Time: Sip coffee or a cocktail from the Inn’s famous front porch rocking chairs overlooking the water.

Eat & Drink

The Restaurant at The Greystone Inn: Indulge in fine dining with a locally inspired menu and beautiful lake views. Reservations recommended. Note that the Restaurant will host our Rehearsal Dinner on Friday evening, so reservations will not be available that evening. Close by, we recommend Osteria del Monte for Friday night dinner, or the Highlands is a short drive away.

Champagne Cruise: If time allows, hop aboard the Lucy II for a sunset cruise complete with bubbly and snacks.

Highlands Dining: Lake Toxaway is only a short drive from Highlands, NC. Paoletti's and Oak Steakhouse are two favorites for dinner. And, of course, no trip is complete without breakfast at the Blue Bicycle.

Things to Do at Lake Toxaway Country Club

Just a short stroll from The Greystone Inn, the Country Club offers a wealth of engaging activities for all ages:

18‑Hole Kris Spence Championship Course: Redesigned and beautiful, with sweeping mountain and lake views for golfers of all skill levels.

Tom Fazio Golf Learning Center & New Academy: A 20‑acre training hub featuring PGA instruction, swing analysis, TopTracer technology, club fitting and covered hitting bays.

Tennis: Five Har‑Tru clay courts with pro shop access, scheduled clinics and round‑robins. We'd love to see an impromptu tournament among our guests pickup over the weekend as well.

Pickleball: Three dedicated courts flanked by an outdoor patio and seating area, making the perfect spot to gather.

Croquet: Two world-class bentgrass lawns and expert instruction available. Don't forget your croquet whites!

State-of-the-Art Fitness Center: Nautilus, Peloton and Cybex equipment, free weights, plus yoga, Pilates, training sessions and guided hikes.

Heated Outdoor Pool: Ideal for swimming, water aerobics or gathering by the pool.

Explore the Outdoors

Hiking Trails: Discover nearby trails with waterfall views, lush forests, and scenic overlooks. The Panthertown Valley trail system and Gorges State Park are local favorites. White Mountain Trail outside Highlands is also a great option.

Wildlife Watching: Keep an eye out for deer, birds and even the occasional black bear (from a safe distance!).

Local Gems

Visit nearby towns like Cashiers and Highlands for quaint shops, art galleries and mountain charm.

Pisgah National Forest and Blue Ridge Parkway are within reach if you’re up for a scenic drive. If you'd prefer to stay closer by, one of our favorite drives is the short loop around the lake to appreciate the architecture.
